As early as 400 B.C. cacao was cultivated by the Mayans and Aztecs. At that time, the prized seed was reserved for the nobility and was only served on special occasions. Today, cocoa is primarily known as an ingredient in sweetened chocolate, although many people don't even know what cocoa actually tastes like.

Our cocoa nibs are obtained from the finest dried cocoa beans, peeled and ground into small pieces, grown in Peru in a controlled, fair and socially responsible way. The 30% organic yacon syrup gives the cocoa nibs a delicious and pleasantly bittersweet taste.

Cocoa nibs with yacon syrup can be chewed on their own and can also be added to desserts, cakes, mueslis and smoothies.
