Drinking a glass of orange juice every day, has long been known to be a healthy practice. New evidence shows that the benefits are wider.
The orange juice contains hesperidin, called flavonoids. In a study conducted by the Human Nutrition Unit, INRA in France, found that drinking two glasses of orange juice a day can significantly reduce diastolic blood pressure (the second number in a blood pressure reading) and improve the function of blood vessels.
Researchers say lower diastolic pressure in only three or four points could translate into a reduction of 20 percent of heart disease. Even if you take a glass of orange juice per day instead of two would have beneficial effects. |
